Most of us ate like you when we were young, and lived with resources to grow and raise our own. Now, like you said, we are now a speed my life up for immediate gratification group of people that most dont want to take the time to do these things it seems. This world has become a "fast food", grab-and-go society where the powers that be add previously unimaginable ingredients and so many different kinds of sugars. So sad! Killing yourselves for "time" management. Even meats and vegis now have added sugars and bad things to "plump" them up and this also makes them weigh more so the price you pay is more..., this has to stop.

Fiber is found only in plant food. Plant foods contain carbohydrate. She must qualify the amount of carbohydrate and fiber she is recommending to people. To quote her at 39:19 “remember carbohydrate is not bad, it’s only when it’s overdone and refined” then at 39:31 “point #2, for weight loss, is low carbohydrate” I am a plant-based RD. I’m in agreement with Barbara in what I’ve heard from her so far. But I think her presentations could be confusing to those who have been swayed by modern influencers and advocates for the “carnivore culture” “carbs are bad” movement. It’s all around us. We aren’t in a 1980’s or early 2000’s culture of “low fat” right now. We are in an environment of carnivorism - high fat high protein. When people hear “low carbohydrate” they visualize plates with meat and a small salad or a bit of sweet potato. Ugh! I’m literally trying to coax sick and fearful people into trying a little carbohydrate on their plate (not refined carbs of course!) To them, calling this a “low carbohydrate” diet would be completely confusing. Hopefully Barbara will elaborate on what she means. Write down a day’s menu on the white board. Show it on a plate with food models for people. Otherwise I’m not sure how people will interpret what she’s saying.
